B: ONE YEARS OLD!

My baby is one year old a week ago. I remember being so hot and so pregnant, and here we've barely had a beautiful rain free day in the last, I don't know, forever?

We had the most low key bday of any of my kids. We had birthday breakfast for dinner, as per tradition, (waffles with whipped cream. bacon... ) and opened presents. Just the six of us. Due to some unexpected family circumstances, I decided to forego any "party" and keep it simple. Because in reality, it all means the same to her at this age. We kinda failed at taking actual photos and only shot video.

Height: 28 inches (13th percentile)

Weight: 18lbs 11oz (34th percentile), and only 3.5lbs away from her 3 year old sister😅

Fav foods: blueberries, grapes, pasta (consumes this like a beast), cheese, sandwiches, yogurt

Less liked: toast, watermelon, dry cereal

Words: mama, dada, up, go, ball and loves to say any variation of "woah"

Favs: walks, Auntie Devon, bathtime, music, her blankie, riding on the rocking horse, opening and closing cupboards and doors, chasing and feeding Seamus

Hates: getting dressed (mostly getting her arms put in her sleeves), teething, not being able to play toys with her sisters

B is such a fun girl. Although the last few days teeth have been throwing off her groove. She loves to get into mischief, with a toothy grin (made up of four teeth). Lately, she has loved going into the linen closet and shredding the extra toilet paper rolls.

When she plays peekaboo she covers her face for the longest time without moving, and makes you ask "Where's Brooklyn?" about four times, before she gives in.

Her dance moves consist of swaying back and forth, waving her arms, and shaking her head. Uncle Alex 2.0 (she has two Uncle Alexes) has a knack for finding her favourite tunes.

She usually only takes one nap, even if I try and force a second on her. That means she is in bed for the night by 730, sometimes waking up around 5 or so, and maybe she goes back to sleep until 630 when the other two girls like to wake up. All 3 girls are sharing a room most of the time now, so it makes wake up and bedtime a little more interesting...and by interesting I mean try-my-best-not-to-pull-my-hair-out.

She is a speedster crawler and loves to walk along the cupboards, opening them as she goes. She can stand up on her own from the ground and balance quite well, but has yet to take her first step. The other three all started taking steps from standing using furniture for balance. She is the first to master standing up completely on her own. She expects you to applaud her every time, or at the very least she applauds herself.

Looking forward to see what fun memories this girl brings this year!
