So I don't really think I need to go into how busy I've been the last three weeks...me not blogging for almost a month does a pretty god job of that. I'm officially finished 2.5 out of 4 yrs. I feel bad for Gordon... he has finals til the 22nd. Poor sap. I've been in quite a festive mood lately and have spent most of my quality time this month with the oven (minus my textbooks of course). I've now done 5 dozen cookes, 2 cookie sheets of turtles, 2 dozen stuffed potatoes, fruit salad, caramel apple cheesecake (my own invention), gingerbread men tonight, and chicken soup at some point in the day. This is one of the things I love about Christmas...making goody plates for families. We've given away four, and have five plates to be given away. Gordon made a roast chicken and potatoes the other night, so I have to give him credit. It was in fact -make sure you're sitting down- delicious (and I don't even like roast chicken). Don't know how he did it, cause I was there to make sure he didn't sneak off to Safeway, but he did and I'm proud of him.
We've had a few good date nights this month. We decorated our IKEA Christmas tree, which has found a home in our kitchen somehow...This means that a) we can't open the oven door the whole way b)two of us can't really fit in the kitchen at one time c)only one person can sit at the table, so we have to eat in the living room using the piano bench as a table to eat together. But when I put those twinkling lights on, it's all worth it. We've been to Christmas concerts (some to watch, some to sing in), to see the Leg lights, drinking mugs of hot chocolate, watching old Christmas movies and baking up a storm. This is our first Christmas being married and it's been pretty magical so far. Can't wait for the next two weeks or forever Christmases.
