Scarlett: 5 months

Scarlett is already 5 months old. She is tiny in size (11-12lbs), but makes up for it with her loud voice. Her and Mia have regular screaming competitions (where they take turns screaming at each other), and if I'm in a different room, sometimes I can't even tell the screams apart.

She is obsessed with her toes-ogling them, grabbing them, sucking on them.

She loves music, looking at pictures, and reading stories.

She's a tough customer when it comes to giggles, and usually requires some type of airborne activity, bouncing, or siblings being goofy to get any laughs out of her. However she's the easiest baby to get to smile.

Takes about 3 naps a day-normally only about 30-45 minutes each.

Still hates being poopy.

Is really interested in food, and tries to grab anything I'm prepping for brother and sister. She loves sitting in the high chair when we're all eating, and chewing on her wooden spoon.

She loves people, and needs to be involved in whatever is going on.

She is curious, alert, and loves to watch her crazy brother and sister get up to their antics.

Isaac is four!

Our boy is four years old going on 15...or sometimes 35.

We celebrated with pizza and games at Chuck E Cheese with family. Isaac had so much fun playing all the arcade games. Then we came back to our house for presents and chocolate cake!

Isaac at 4 yrs old

Weight and height are in the 25th percentile.
Pretty much confirmed he has asthma. Lame.
He absolutely loves preschool...and batman...and sharks. This kid knows his shark trivia. Take it from someone who knows. Don't try and correct him unless you want to embarrass yourself.

He is such a great swimmer, and loves diving under the water and using his goggles to see.

He is obsessed with ages, and constantly says things like "When I'm (insert whatever age he thinks is appropriate), I'm doing (insert whatever activity he is currently not allowed to do)".

Embarrassing age conversations
Whispering very loudly in church "mum, mum look behind you" "why, what's behind me?" "AN OLD LADY!". To be fair she was about 90.

A middle aged woman was trying to calm Scarlett down while I was getting Isaac changed after swimming lessons. "Well actually, Scarlett doesn't talk to old ladies." (...this is actually not my child that I'm dressing...)

He still pushes every button he can whenever he can, and is always keeping me on my parenting toes. He breaks every parenting strategy. The 1-2-3 method worked well for a while, then he would start saying "I'll just do it when you get to 2". So now I count down from 10 or 5 depending on how quickly I want him to do or not do something. Him and Mia are really great at counting backwards.

I hear a lot of  "Seriously mom?" "Ugh I'm so sick of this kind of mom." "You have to be a good mom and let me do what I want" (to which I reply that that would not make me a good mom) "When I'm a dad I'm going to let my kids eat as much chocolate as they want." Sorry son. That's gonna be grandma's job. Muaha.

He has the mouth of a very moody teenager. Luckily I'm so past the stop-you're-making-me-look-like-a-bad-mom stage, otherwise I'd think we'd be hermits. He's become very acquainted with the taste of various hot sauces. Soap used to work.

When he asks me if he's allowed to do this or that and I give a vague response he says "Well is that a yes or a no?"

He likes to answer in code. The other day "yes" was fruit loops and "no" was chips, so he would answer the question by saying "fruit loops" or "chips. Sometimes the code is actions, sometimes hand signals.

He loves his sisters, but still fulfills his big brotherly duty of getting on their nerves.

He likes to spell, and ask me how words are spelt.

He can write his name.

He is really good at remembering songs and loves to sing.

As always, he is full of energy and loves to be running, climbing and playing.

Scarlett: four months

Little peanut is four months old!

She is the smallest of our babies weight wise and barely tips the scale at 10lbs14oz.

She is 10th percentile for height.

She has her bottom two teeth budding and has been the BIGGEST drooler of the three so far. It's like raising a bull dog.

She can roll both ways.

She creates tsunamis during bath time.

She loves the sound of her own voice, and it's hard to differentiate between her's and Mia's screams.

She giggles when daddy throws her in the air.

She loves being sung to (or listening to any music) and being read to.

She will now fall asleep in her car seat. Halle-freaking-lujah.

She mostly cat naps during the day but will sleep 8+hours at night.

She still hates being poopy-she won't eat or sleep with a dirty bum,

She has the biggest, happiest smiles in the morning. I call them her muppet smiles.

We sure love our little lady.
