Toothless tiger

We are almost at 8.5 months old and sans teeth. Isaac cut his first two by 5 months and kept going from there, so this is a little strange. I can see her top teeth coming and her bottom gums are swollen, but so far no little teeth soldiers have managed to break through that barricade yet. She has all the "classic" signs, which Isaac rarely did, so I keep expecting wishing for them. Teething has made her a very sad, sensitive and clingy girl at times, which when you already have one high maintenance busy child, makes for some emotionally and mentally exhausting days.

Despite being all gums, she eats surprisingly well, and loves everything. Serious. This girl eats almost anything we put it front of her, although she will reject her cereal once in a while. Meal times usually involve Mia crawling around under the table looking for scraps, or crawling up my legs and begging for food. Don't worry! We feed her more than the scraps her brother throws on the floor. He helps feed her too.

Mia sits on my lap and eats whatever we're having for dinner. Pasta, chicken, mashed potatoes... She also finishes up her brother's leftovers a lot of the time (eggs, toast, pb&j...). I've also started weaning her from bottles (not formula, just a bottle) and she loves drinking out of a regular cup. She's still getting used to her sippy cup, but as long as she doesn't have it when she's tired, then she's pretty accepting of it.

She's normally content to just crawl around or climb on things. And she's always particularly interested in whatever her brother is doing, much to his annoyance.

She's an extremely social girl, with a need to bewhere the action is. If nothing exciting is going on, she's content being on her own, but if there's a gathering somewhere in the house of 2+ people (usually Isaac and I), she had better be included.

She usually sleeps from about 8pm to 6-630 in the morning. If it's 6 or before, normally she'll even go back to sleep, but any later and she's up for the day. You can find her jumping up and down in her crib screeching and babbling.

She says "dada" and "mama". Mia happy = "Dada dada". Mia sad = "Mamaaaa"

She has a signature face (pictured below). Scrunched up noise, smiling, and breathing really fast...almost snorting.
Whenever she's doing something she shouldn't and I say "Miaaaa", she gives me her signature look and waves at me. Oh yeah, she waves.

She loves being upside down. When she sits on my lap, she'll arch her back and throw her head back so that I'll flip her over.

She's more interested in climbing on and eating books then reading them.

She always tries to escape diaper changes and getting dressed unless her big brother is right beside her entertaining her. More often than not he's jumping on the bed distracting her. And she loves jumping on the bed with him. The other day when we put them to bed at the same time, Isaac was jumping on his bed and Mia was jumping in her crib, both of them laughing and screaming. Gordon always says that she will "bring balance to the force", but I think they are going to get into such trouble together...
