Her biggest accomplishment is finally finally FINALLY(!!!!) walking. For some people 14.5 months might not seem like a long time, but let me be real
-when she crawls at 6.5 months...
-when her big brother walked at 10 months...
-when she's been able to take steps on her own for 3 months...
-when you catch her walking across a room on her own, but drop to her knees and crawl as soon as she sees you...
-aaaaand when she's insistent upon walking everywhere anyway while holding on to one of your fingers (which is purple and blue from how hard she is gripping and "steering" you)...
...then it feels like a long time.
Easter was a magical day in her mind I suppose. She crawled to my parents door mat, stood on it, and then walked over to me a couple feet away. She soaked in the praise, crawled back to the exact same spot, and walked again. Repeat, repeat, repeat. Must've been a magic carpet.
She must always collect "treasures" while she's walking. Random toys, sticks, pinecones... she has some kind of sonar for garbage too. There could be a million sticks, leaves, and pinecones, but trust Mia to find the one discarded kleenex in the whole playground. The park by our house is probably pretty clean thanks to her (and me picking up all the garbage before she can get to it!).

We're having deja vu from Isaac, with all our kitchen chairs turned over on their sides and under the table. She will climb just about anything.
She's still a champ eater, but her favourite dinners are definitely when I make asian food. She cannot possibly shovel the food in fast enough.
She will still occasionally take 2 naps a day.
She is outgrowing everything length wise, and so is mostly in 12-18 month clothes. Buuuut she can still fit into some 3-6 and 6-9 month jeans. And I've converted lots of her outgrown leggings into capris for the summer. Versatility at its best!
Her favourite things are: cuddly toys, books, walking, talking, outside
| She can often be found surrounded by books, quietly going through them |
She has started to retaliate when her brother gets on her nerves-kicking, swiping, screaming (there have been some epic screaming matches between those two). Gonna be fun!
She loves to pretend-feed her baby, talk on the phone (which is how we found out she was saying "hi"), have Woody and Jessie have a conversation with each other or wear each other's hats.
She has the most hilarious fake laugh, that I could never do justice to by describing it. Anytime she's looking for some laughs, she'll do something totally normal-like take a drink of water, and then go "aha aha aha". Sometimes the two of us just have "fake laughing sessions" together, where we take turns doing a fake laugh. I usually end up in fits of real laughter.
Funny/gross story- Last month we had the missionaries over for dinner. After dinner, Mia was a mess so I threw her in the bath which I can see from the living room. Gordon and I were sitting in the living room listening to the missionaries. Mia was squealing and chattering and having a grand old time. I heard her sit on the plug and accidentally start draining the water, so I went into the bathroom, to find she had pooped in the tub. She was delighted about this fact, because what could be more fun than having a ball to play with in the tub! She was holding a big old lump and literally bringing it to her mouth. I grabbed both of her wrists and yelled for Gordon to come help. Luckily no poo was ingested that night. Haha the poor elders. Maybe I need to teach her about leaving better impressions on men, because the next time they came over, she threw up right in front of the one missionary's foot while he was teaching, and then started playing in it.
She's a charmer!!
